Paying for Printing

Print Cash

Students are given $16.80 of "Print Cash" on their account each semester to be used for printing. It disappears at the end of each semester, and you get a new credit of $16.80 when the next semester begins.

How much does it cost to print?

The printer/copiers only have 8.5x11 paper in them. Here are those costs:

  • Black & White/Greyscale: $0.06 per page
  • Duplex Black & White/Greyscale: $0.10 per piece of paper printed on both sides
  • Color: $0.15 per page
  • Duplex Color: $0.28 per piece of paper printed on both sides

If you want to print on larger size paper, you must supply that paper yourself. Here are the costs for larger than 8.5x11 printing:

  • Large Black & White/Greyscale: $0.10 per page
  • Large Duplex Black & White/Greyscale: $0.18 per piece of paper printed on both sides
  • Large Color: $0.28 per page
  • Large Duplex Color: $0.55 per piece of paper printed on both sides

When you run out of Print Cash

Once you have used up your Print Cash, you must have Mountie Money to print. You can add Mountie Money to your card at the machine in the student union or online at the One Card Portal. Note: Mountie Money can be used in lots of places other than printing. And Mountie Money doesn't go away at the end of the semester like Print Cash does.

Print Cash Balance

You can check your printing balance (combined Print Cash and Mountie Money) by logging into a printer. Click on Device Functions and it will tell you how much money you have to print.

You can also log in to the Printing Portal to view your balance.

I need a refund

To request a refund:

  • Log in to the Printing Portal
  • Click on Recent Print Jobs
  • Next to each print job, there is a link to request a refund. Click on that and it will ask you to explain the reason.
